"In AI infrastructure, we're seeing huge demand for addressing power and throughput challenges.  The memory keeps improving as technology nodes advance, and GPUs and CPUs improve as technology nodes advance. But moving data is still a huge bottleneck in the ecosystem. That’s the bottleneck in AI infrastructure, and the solution is moving to light, going to the optical domain. Moving light is the best way to address it, and MEMS is uniquely positioned to address that."

Our powerful micromachines can build switches that move data quickly through optical circuit switching, directly addressing the power and throughput challenges that are limiting AI infrastructure today.

Eric and Sana also explored the broader challenges facing the MEMS industry and why AI applications are driving unprecedented demand for next-generation sensors, from data center optical switches to autonomous vehicle LiDAR to robotics applications that could transform manufacturing and beyond.
